I have always loved the fresh feeling of fall. These days I am in the studio. My new solo project, Becoming, has received funding from the Toronto Arts Council and the Canada Council, so I am able to move forward with the sound, movement, and script development. I am thrilled that sound designer Tom Kuo will join the creative team, which also includes rising lighting designer Logan Raju-Cracknell, as well as my long-time mentors and collaborators Holly Small and Fides Krucker.
I’m excited for this next leg of the creative journey, as the bits and pieces I’ve created during the past two years begin to come together. Discovering what this work is becoming (ugh! no pun intended)–the range of the work, what to include, what to discard, how ideas relate, where connections are missing–is an intense, unpredictable, and compelling puzzle for me. I hope you will be able to join me for the eventual presentation. Stay tuned for a showing date once I raise production funds.
I am also thrilled to be able to offer in-person classes for children again in the beautiful studio I share at Artscape Youngplace in Toronto. Please visit my Teaching page for more information about what’s on deck and how to register.
Thanks for visiting, come back soon.
